BB Final Two and Racism and Women Bashing on the BB MB

Tonight on BB we saw that Ryan and Adam made it to the final two. I for one was very relieved that Ryan who won the Final HOH did pick Adam for the second spot. I was quite worried that Sheila’s blubbering would make Ryan feel bad and that he cast Adam out.

When Ryan delivered the bad news to Sheila she gasped with disbelief and devastation. Now I know Sheila is emotional, but I also think she is a good actress and I really think that she needs to try out for being an actress because she would be a shoe in for torrid love scenes, the broken heart. I say this with honesty and really would like to see her go after acting. She would fast become a star in no time.

Moving along to the Big Brother MB. I have been on this MB for over a year now. I have seen many fights and arguments, and as we all know all of us can get carried away when in a heated argument. However, I have a huge concern if not an issue with the racism on the BB MB and consistent use of Racist epitomes. For example there is one specific poster that has used the N word, the J word ( Jewish) and this poster has now just last night graduated to using racist comments against Hispanics and in fact seems to have a gay phobia. This person has done this consistently several times. To add to this persons MB notority, this person along with another also targets women on the MB and calls them unflattering vulgar names, such as C’s and S’s. If anyone dare responds even with the mildest retort, they are either banned or their posts get deleted.

Some folks have written to the appropiate parties, some have even phoned and spoken to the appropiate parties, to no avail. So my question to BB is how much is enough. Can you tell us all why a woman was attacked and this person used racist comments to not only attack her but to attack her children. I might add that this woman has served her country in the military. He called her children N children. Can you tell us all BB why this is permitted and then when anyone responds why you are allowing others to abuse the report violation and over-report to get others banned unjustly. Some of the persons doing this are well known on other blogs. I and others think that this is disgraceful for obvious reasons. Yes people argue and fight on blogs and at times people get carried away, but when minority children are attacked, when someone’s family is attacked and when other races, countries and religions are attacked as well as threatened physically by these posters, I would say it is high time BB do something very big about their MB problem. In the year 2008 it is quite disgusting for people and women to have to be subjected to this type of behaviour. Big brother will have to be more responsible on their responses to many that have went through the proper venue and contacted them. THERE IS ABSOLULTLEY NO PLACE FOR RACISM ON A MB THAT HAS THOUSANDS OF MEMBERS, SOME OF WHO HELP YOUR SHOW BY WRITING ABOUT YOU AT ALL. WAKE UP BIG BROTHER AND DO SOMETHING HUGE ABOUT THIS ONGOING PROBLEM AND ISSUE ON YOUR MESSAGE BOARD. There are many angry people on your MB and most of them are angry because of what is permitted to go on with your MB. In comparison to last year, were many just had fun, on the threads, this year it is a diffrent enviroment. Again, it is up to Big Brother to make the responsible response. I have always been known to take on serious issues and deep issues. Having said that, racism , children and women being bashed attacked and called racist names is quite a serious issue to me. Big Brother there are many people that are going to be interested in how you respond, specifically women and minorities. I intend to keep writing about the problem until this serious issue is resolved.

Well, I for one take my hat off to you Arnelle for writing about the terrible things that are going on with the CBS/BB9 board. I too post on that board, and cannot believe how vile, racists posters get to stay on the board, while fun loving posters are banned, or their posts are deleted. It’s a shame, and a disgrace that this is allowed on such a famous public message board, which CBS owns. I do believe that there is a moderator or two who are in on it, and maybe, just maybe CBS is not aware of this. I think they are having fun at the expense of innocent posters. I used to have a lot of fun on that board, and met wonderful people there. Now…I fear what will happen with each post I write.

It’s time CBS/BB do something about the woman bashers and racists posters. You’re right Arnelle, there are a lot of angry posters on the bb9 board. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of these posters left the board. It’s disgusting and shameful, most certainly not a place to have fun anymore. I thank you for writing about this, I’m sure there will be others who follow up with their opinions.

You are very welcome, this has become an ongoing issue, it is no longer an isolated or one time issue. As always I have great concern when children, women and good people are attacked for no reason and no justification.

Thank you so much, Arnelle, for finally bringing some attention to this horrendous problem. It has just gotten beyond ridiculous. I’ve been posting on the Big Brother message board since last season.

But in the last couple of months, there’s been a really disturbing phenomenon. It’s been VERY hard to get an offensive poster banned, it takes a LOT of reports. But lately, there have been a rash of pleasant, fun posters suddenly getting BANNED… for NO reason! There is a feud of sorts going on between two groups of posters…. members of one group are targeting members of the other group.

There have been those who suspected hacking, but it’s obvious there is over-reporting, i.e. reporting innocent posts, and there are rumors of a wayward MOD who is a FRIEND of one or more posters. I think it will take letters and/or emails directly to the CBS moderators to get to the bottom of this. I am sending this, along with more information naming user ID’s. I urge anyone interested to do the same.

Thank you for bringing the hypocrisy on the BB board to light. I joined the BB board just this season and have met some wonderful people there who only want to have fun and talk about life and the show. There have been too many innocent posters who have been banned lately that have been victims of moderators abusing their powers. What disgusts me is that at least 2 vile people have been allowed to remain on the board when they add nothing but hate and racism. One of these posters is bordering on harrassment and yet he is allowed to continue with his rants without rebuke from the officials of the board. This has to stop!

Thank-you for bringing this into the limelight. I have been attacked by those people. I have complained in writing to the CBS Moderators and I have phoned them, nobody ever answered me. I do not post on the forum anymore. I am afraid of being targeted and attacked.

I am so glad that you have posted this! Since reporting the actual posters who are the worst about their racist etc posts does no good, maybe this problem will be addressed by CBS! I am so tired of posters being banned that have not caused any problems and those that have are being allowed to post their hate towards races, gender, religious beliefs, life styles, families, homes & children. Something needs to be done. I will help you all that I can!

I agree with you, how much is enough? It is one thing when others are having an argument, it is another thing when posters set out to harrass people through racism and their targeted attacks and over-reporting others for no apparent reason then malice. I find it profoundly disgusting that two of them have bragged they are friends with mods. It is those mods that seem have forgotten their duties and responsibilities in favour of their friendship with posters that bait, taunt, bash, flame, and agree with racism and bashing women. I find it equally disgusting that some in this group openly brag and boast and say yes they are tormenting people; yes, they are baiting and taunting. They seem to be quite proud of their actions. The racist poster does have to be stopped and the women bashing has to be stopped. No action by BB only suggests that it is OK for posters to call other these derogatory names. It is not OK and it is about time that BB/CBS do something about their problem and about the two mods that seem to not be able to do their jobs.

Thank you for bringing this more to the forefront! It’s a shame that steps like this must be taken, in order for this problem to be rectified. It certainly seems as though the mods are not taking their job seriously..making friends with certain individuals and punishing the wrong people. The attacks on the BB board are horrendous, foul and dispicable. There is NO EXCUSE for them to have continued. Who knows how many wonderful people have had to leave the BB board due to the behavior of a few. Who knows how many victims of these posters have been banned because of over-reporting. What does it take for CBS to finally LISTEN????

I am in full agreement with you, the mods should take their jobs seriously, however, so should the BB and CBS execs take the matter seriously. Hopefully, CBS will listen. I intend to write about it and link it up until such time that CBS and BB rectify and resolve the issues.

i agree,it’s time for CBS to wake up to what is going on. the message boards are supposed to be a fun place to discuss and debate big brother.sadly,it’s turned into a place for angry,hostile individuals to attack strangers. i have vicious personal attacks on everything from posters names to bashing their sick child.it has to stop.
and these people continue to post happily away while innocent people are banned or put on ‘auto delete’. i know of 2 individuals who report and brag about it. one is female and one is male.the male poster is very sly about it and plays innocent when confronted. i won’t use their screen names here,but we know them both.
WAKE UP CBS!!!! time for new mods without friends that post on the boards.

That is what is interesting, many others are stating that two people on that board are friends with BB Mods. They seem to use their friendship with the Mods, to bash, flame, instigate, and spread hateful racism, and to cause problems for others for their own merriment. What is baffling is that these persons that are friends with BB mods will post little quips such as ” Just a bit of fun”! I find that astounding that persons think that it is fun with racial slurs being used in that bit of fun.

We also have people being banned for nothing. If you look at their posting history the good far outweighs the bad compared to the others, but the others go behind themselves and delete their hurtful sayings before you can quote, report, or the (real) mods can see them for who they really are.

There is one main poster who has actually claimed to outright physically hurt another poster once he found them and yet nothing was done with him when he was reported. I believe this is because of his being friends of the friend of the mod.

This is a very well said statement of the facts that go on there.

I too have seen people being targeted for many reasons including; race, sex and sexual preferences, and religion. I myself have been attacked for my spiritual and religious beleifs.
There doesn’t seem to be anybody monitering this message board. People are called horrible names and nothing is done about it. People are physically threatened and nothing is done about it. Yet peaceful posters continue to be banned. There is only one explanation for this – it’s a vendetta. Several posters in particular have claimed to know mods and have made mention of being able to get anybody banned and poof…..innocent posters are banned.
You’d think that a company as big as CBS would protect their fans and posters better than this. It really is a travesty.

I agree with you, friendships from mods should not constitute absolute power over anothers right to post nor should friends of mods feel that they are seperate and cannot be banned. It is about time CBS and BB really step up and do what they must to ensure equal posting status for all members and fans of BB.
